Lancome Butterfly Fever- Review

Image
Butterfly Fever (glowy ballerine)- $40, Sephora.com

With purple and glitter overlay

With overlay rubbed off

swatched heavily Overall thoughts:
This is definitely a luxury purchase. I had to swatch heavily to get it to show up on my skin. This would work better for pale skin or as a highlight for darker skin, though I think it may look ashy on some skin tones.
I purchased this for my personal pleasure, not intending on using it much, more for collecting. If you want a blush that is usable there are better ones out there at much cheaper prices that have better pigmentation. My NYX blushes are just as good as this one and are around $5.

Overall thoughts:
You can not beat the quality of these products for this price. LORAC eye shadows are amazing in pigmentation and blendability. The blush has excellent pigmentation. The gloss is a gorgeous color, but kind of sticky. I have not tried the mascara because I have at least 12 that are open and need to be used up before I open another one. I gave the bag to my husband to put his shower things in at the gym.
If you have never watched Carol Shaw on QVC, she is an amazing make-up artist and has a large celebrity clientele. You can only expect the best from someone who works on the best.

Stila Make Me Blush set- Review

Image
Make Me Blush- $20, Sephora.com

This collection consists of the brand new Make Me Blush cheek color and two glosses appropriately named Hugs and Kisses.

The blush has a golden overlay that brushes off.

The colors are a mixture of a cool pink, a pale pink and a dark coral. When swatched it looks very similar to Mac's Marine Life powder that was released last summer.

Make Me Blush swatch

The glosses give you a nice, neutral pink that is great for everyday (Kisses) and a cherry red with glitter for night time (Hugs). I have not swatched these because I have far too many open glosses that I will never be able to use, but you can get the gist of the colors.

Overall thoughts:

This is a great value. The blush alone is worth the $20. The coral color will be great for summer. It will most likely look good on all skin tones and will give a nice bright pop of color to the cheeks. I highly recommend you get this kit before it sells out. It is limited addition.

Mascara challenge- Mally vs. Maybelline

Image
I have two new mascara's and I wanted to compare them since they are very similar in that they are volumizing, but have two very different price points.

The first one in this challenge is the Mally Beauty Volumizing mascara. $20 each or $28 for 2. This mascara is also available in waterproof.

This mascara is supposed to be a one step all inclusive mascara with great hold.
This is one coat on my top lashes.
The next mascara in this challenge is Maybelline Volume Express One by One. $6.99 at Wal-mart. This mascara is also available in waterproof.

This mascara claims to give clump free voluminous lashes.

One coat on my top lashes.
Maybelline on left, Mally on right Results:

The Mally mascara offers a true black, one-coat application. It had better hold and more curl than the Maybelline.
The Maybelline however gave more length, while still giving the same amount of volume as the Mally. I did have to work with the Maybelline one longer to achieve this result, whereas the Mally was a very …

Blue Had Me At Hello- Review and some dupes

Image
My darling husband surprised me with this little jewel from my wish list last night, so I had to review it.

The palette consists of: row one- a cream highlight and a slightly mint toned highlight. row 2- a silver and a blue-green. row 3- a blackened navy with glitter and a navy. row 4- a matte black and a black with glitter.

I went through and swatched some other shadows that I thought these might dupe for and have them for you below.

L-R Senna Crystal White, Browbone left, Mac Phloof

L-R Browbone right, Senna Sea Lily

L-R Eyelid left, Mac Arctic Grey
L-R Mac Shimmermoss, Eyelid right, Urban Decay Flipside

L-R Senna Midnight, Mac Deep Truth, Crease left, Crease right, Lancome All Made Up

L-R Urban Decay Oil Slick, Definer left, Definer right, Mac Carbon
Overall Thoughts:

This palette is well worth the $4.99 plus tax. It was at my local Walgreen's on the wall with the permanent collection of Wet N Wild products.

The shadows are creamy and super pigmented. They blend amazingly and have…
