Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Island Oasis Eye Shadow palette- Review and swatches

Estee Lauder Island Oasis EyeShadow Palette- $42 Macy's and other fine department stores as well as EsteeLauder.com

All applied without primer.

Review:

This is a gorgeous palette for warmer skin tones. I think that some cooler skin tones can also pull it off with the blue and the slightly pink toned coral being in the mix. The shadows do not have names for each color written on the packaging so I will describe them the best I can.

From L-R:

Blackened green, almost khaki, with a gold and copper glitter mixed in. Applies slightly chunky and has some fallout.

A true gold shimmer, but not glitter. Very metallic looking. Would be gorgeous applied wet. Similar to Bare Escentuals True Gold.

A bright satin blue, almost teal, but bluer. At some times it looks slightly green on my skin. Has a sheen, but no shimmer. Applies very smooth.

A pink toned copper that has a satin finish. Also has a sheen but no shimmer.

A bronze brown, red undertones. Some shimmer to it, but not chunky glitter. Applies smooth.

A silver/white almost eggshell color with glitter. Applies chunky and has some fall out.

This palette is pricey and can be duped easily. It is really similar to the palette that was released in 2009. You do not need both palettes. The shades are all nicely pigmented and apply smooth except for the end shades that have the glitter in them. They apply chunky like Mac Lustre shadows.

If you are a collector like me, this is a nice addition and worth the $42. This will be beautiful in the summer, especially on darker skin tones. I have found with Estee Lauder shadows that I often do not need a primer. The quality is exceptional
