The brush on this mascara is nothing special to me. It is a smaller brush than I like, but it does it's job and applies the mascara with minimal clumping. I do like that the tip is smaller to get the inner corners without getting mascara all over my eyelid.
I applied one coat of the black to my upper lashes only. I had zero clumping or smudging, which is surprising since I can hardly ever apply mascara without getting some on my eyelid. I did not curl my lashes before the application to test the lifting effects. My results were that the mascara did a great job of lifting and curling my lashes. My lashes look thicker and longer, but not as thick as I would have wanted from a volumizing mascara. A second coat would be necessary.
The second coat made my lashes noticably thicker and blacker. The are still lifted and feel weightless. If you are like me and do not like to curl your lashes, this mascara is great. As I learned later, this mascara is not water resistant and will come off if water touches it.
The one thing that I do not like about Estee Lauder mascara's is that they are not black enough. Every formula I have tried has turned lighter and more of a gray shade than a black after application. I will wear this throughout the day and post back if this one turns color or flakes.
After 6 hours
This mascara ended up wearing very well. I had two tiny flakes under my eyes. The color actually stayed pretty black for an Estee Lauder mascara. My lashes did not fall or get heavy and held their curl.
Removing the mascara:
I found that an eye make-up remover was not necessary. I tried on one eye to use my Nars remover and it only flaked and crumbled all over my eye instead of breaking down and removing. The best way to remove it is with pure hot/warm water. It melted right off with no flakes and was completely off with no pulling or tugging of the lashes like the remover did.
I am a big fan of Estee Lauder products. The quality is always superior and they have a great return policy. I am not affiliated and purchased the product myself.
