Smashbox Full Exposure mascara review

Available at QVC, Sephora and Smashbox

I have been using this mascara for the last week in order to give a good review. I purchased mine during the Smashbox Friends and Family sale for the intent of reviewing and I have to say that I am enjoying it.
When I first started using Smashbox nearly 6 years ago or longer, they had one mascara that they put in all their kits that I loved. Since then there have been many mascara's come and go and I have not liked any of them as much as this one.

The details:

Inspired by the on-set technique of layering a lengthening fiber mascara over a volumizing formula, our new studio-tested mascara exposes your longest, fullest lashes. No clumps, no flakes. Just maximum-impact, scene-stealing lashes.

• 104% increase in lash volume

• 32% increase in lash length

• 34-degree increase in lash curl

My before:

As you can see I have okay lashes that are very light. I prefer a wetter mascara with great volumizing capability and some length. My lashes are fairly long and most mascaras will transfer onto my brow bone during the day.

With one coat:

With two coats: (Please ignore the smudge on my lid. I didn't see it until I edited.)

The brush:

The formula is not too wet and not too dry. It applied easily and eveny and I had not problem with clumping. This mascara has a nice hold to it and my lashes stayed curled all day without having to use a lash curler.

I had no problem with transfer or flakes. The mascara looked great for 6-8 hours but after that seemed to wear off, though there were no flakes. This is not water resistant and will rub right off if it gets wet. I was able to remove almost all of it with warm water and used a light face wash to remove the residue. I am a contact wearer and did not have any problems with the fibers in this formula. I even slept in this mascara one night and woke up with nothing falling into my eyes (though most of it had worn off).

I find this a great every day mascara that will last throughout the work day with no irritation or problems. It adds a decent amount of volume and length, perfect for day time. It is not a dramatic mascara and I would want something bolder for night time. The hold is nice for someone who has problem with keeping a curl and the lashes still feel pliable without a stiff feel.

You can get this from Smashbox as a single for $19, or get smashbox Full Exposure Mascara Duo from QVC for $29.50. This mascara will last at least three months, which is when you should be disposing of it and grabbing a new one.

If you are looking for a nice every day mascara, I would suggest giving this one a shot.
