I watched a video a couple days ago from Beauty Broadcast and she had just purchased a new Color Explosion eye palette. I had not seen these in stores yet, but after seeing her use the one she had, I knew I had to have them all. Luckily, I had picked up a couple dollar off coupons at Rite Aid, so I went on a search to find these. First I went to Target because they had them online, but no luck. Next I went to Wal-Mart and found them for $8.97. I purchased three because I had three coupons and the next day my husband brought me home the other two :).
I also picked up a cream shadow palette to try.
First the photos, then my thoughts:
Purple Possibilities cream shadow palette. Nice pigment, I'll be testing the no creasing that it claims.
The eye palettes contain (top to bottom) a shimmer overlay, liner shadow, lid (left), crease (right) and base (bottom). In all the swatches, the first photo will be the shimmer and liner shades, the second photo will be lid, crease and base.
As far as pigmentation, the Greens, Browns and Pinks were the best. The least pigmented was the Purple palette. The Blue shadows were fine, but the liner shadow from the Blue and Purple palettes were streaky and hard to swatch. The Green, for sure, was the best pigmentation and was the only one with a golden shimmer. From the package, I thought the Purple would be my favorite, but it turned out to be my least favorite. I am actually leaning toward the pink. I don't have a lot of pinks in my collection and these are nice shades.
Price will vary from store to store. I had read somewhere that they were $10.99 at the drugstore.
As far as drugstore make-up goes, Maybelline had always been my favorite. Especially, now that I found the Super Stay make-up. These palettes are nice and I love the shimmer shades. If you are looking for matte colors, you won't like these. I know everyone is crazy about Wet N' Wild at the moment, but the WnW don't really work well on me. I prefer these :).
Which one is your favorite?
