A "Romantic" look at Too Faced

My Romantic Face
Too Faced has become an easily recognized brand in the cosmetics world. Not only is their packaging ultra feminine and sweet, but the products really do what they claim they will do.

I placed an order the day the Fall collection was released. (I discovered that the website has better deals than buying in the store, and you get free samples!) My goal was to buy the lip liner and lipstick to try out and see how I liked them. I ended up getting more than I intended, but got a great deal.

The shipping box is just as pretty as the product packaging. Who doesn't love pink?

Free samples! Isn't the pink filler cute? Because of these samples, I now love Lip Insurance; a product I never thought I would need or use. It felt hydrating, smoothed my lips and made my lipstick last longer!

I ended up purchasing:

Summer Red Lips

Who says you can't wear red lips in summer?

I don't like to follow the trend and like to switch my makeup looks up. I decided I wanted to wear my favorite red lip, and I challenge you all to do the same.

My favorite red lip happens to be a discontinued Lancome lipstick in Retro Rouge, I paired it with bronzed skin, highlighted cheeks and eyes, with a simple liner and loads of mascara.

So, tell me, what is your favorite red?

Makeup Geek shadows...part two

When I last reviewed the Makeup Geek shadows, I didn't have the packaging handy to photograph. This is how the individual pans are shipped.

This time I ordered three new shades. I often order 3 to 4 at a time when I have a few extra bucks. It's slower, but more affordable to collect them this way. Shipping is not that expensive, so I don't mind paying it each time.

Beaches & Cream, Gold Digger, Mermaid
Beaches & Cream is a nice fleshtone, matte shade. It's not a dry, powdery matte, it almost looks like satin.

Gold Digger is a more antiqued looking gold, rather than a bold, metallic gold.

Mermaid is more beautiful than words. My favorite of the MUG shades so far. Pictures do not capture the dimension in this shade. There is a mixture of blue/green/gold and shimmer.

Have you placed your order yet? Definitely get Mermaid!

Maybelline New York- eyeshadow quads- Natural Smokes, Designer Chocolates

$4.99 Drugstores

Maybelline Natural Smokes Quad

Honestly, I bought this quad just for the taupe lid color. I was surprised by how much I liked the rest of the shades. They swatched better than they showed up on my eyes, but are definitely pigmented enough for daytime use. I would repurchase.

Designer Chocolates Quad

I was so disappointed by this beautiful cranberry shade, as well as the other three in this quad. The pigmentation is just bad. Keep in mind I don't use primer when swatching, but these need a lot of work to be usable on the eyes.

Includes: 0.7-oz Amazonian Clay Cream-to-Powder Bronzer Brush Brush made in China; Bronzer made in Canada

My Thoughts:

The brush- Nice weight, felt good in the hands, brush was dense and firm. I felt the bristles were a little scratchy on my face though and would prefer a softer, synthetic version.

The bronzer- Love the container, love the screw top. The amount of product was on the low side, being only .7oz. The color was a nice golden brown, but there is a significant amount of shimmer. In some lig…
