Ouch!!! My dry, cracked, cuticles!

I am sure many of you are having the same struggle as I am this time of year. My hands are extremely dry and dehydrated and my cuticles look mangled. Hand creams are not good enough!

I went on a search yesterday for something to help me through this. I ended up purchasing some Burt's Bees Hand Salve. ($9)

Have super-dry hands? This all-natural salve knows how to handle it. Brimming with botanical oils, herbs and Beeswax, your hard-working hands can finally find sweet relief.

• Moisturizes rough, dry hands with botanical oils and Beeswax
• Herbal scent
• Perfect for both men and women

Ingredients: prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, cera alba (beeswax, cire d'abeille), helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, lavendula hybrida (lavandin) oil, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil, eucalyptus globulus oil, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) flower oil, tocopherol, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, glycine soja (soybean) oil…

My top 10 beauty Christmas wishlist!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I hope you all had a great day!

I started off having pumpkin pancakes for breakfast with my family. I then tried to take a nap while the ham cooked, but my sister-in-law came over and had me do her makeup.

husband and sister-in-law

I then drank some wine while the rest of dinner was cooking. We said a blessing then ate a large dinner consisting of turkey and ham and all the fixins.

After we were good and stuffed, we went out the theatre and watched Breaking Dawn 2. Last year we saw #1 on Thanksgiving. Next year will be the second installment of The Hunger Games-Catching Fire.

I have now washed my face and am heading to bed. I have to work tomorrow :(.

I hope you all had a blessed day. I truly feel blessed!

November Birchbox 2012

This month was worth the $10 spent in products, even though I don't particularly like them.

I received a full size ModelCo Fibre Lashxtend mascara- I tried it and it did nothing for my lashes. I ended up having to go over them with another mascara to get the look I wanted. I would not recommend. The next item is Color Club deluxe sample nail polish in Put A Pin In It. It is beautiful and I have nothing bad to say about this. It is a beautiful rose gold shade with high shine. The next item is Lulu Organics Lavender and Clary Sage hair powder. It is difficult to use in this packaging. I don't hate it but wouldn't purchase. I also received a fragrance sample from Stella Cadente which I really like in Miss Me. It is a nice powdery scent that is perfect for daytime. The lifestyle extra I got was a Soyjoy bar. I ate it, it wasn't horrible. I wouldn't purchase. I did find these for sale at a flea marker for a quarter each after I ate this one.

What did you receive this mo…

Chanel Harmonie Du Soir palette- swatches

If you can only buy one item this season, I would go with this one. The colors are gorgeous, the pigmentation is good. It just feels and looks luxurious. A definite splurge at $65 but well worth it! I wondered why Chanel put gold in this one since it was also in the Topkapi palette, so I took pictures of Topkapi for you to compare. The gold in Topkapi is much brighter and more yellow.

I had to beg and plead to find this palette. I bought it used as you can see and hoard it in my collection. I am afraid to use it because then I won't have it anymore. Sad, I know!

bareMinerals Light Show palette- swatches!

super power, 10pm, the limelight, the high dive
spotlight, flash, flicker, dazzle

sorry this one came out blurry I really love this palette! It is beautiful, easy to use, a complete look, and looks great on. You can't go wrong with this one!

New Job!

I am starting my new job tomorrow! I'm happy to finally have a job after looking for months. The pay is not great, but it is close to home and the job is easy. I will be assistant manager at a little shop close by that sells used items in booths, but on a nicer scale than the Peddler's malls here. It is clean and neat and tidy.

Makeup is fun, but it is really hard to make money freelancing year round, especially in areas like where I live. If I had my choice, I would do nothing but makeup! My dream job would be Lisa Eldridge's life!!!

I still haven't heard back from some of the interviewer's, and will die if the high paying job ends up calling and offering me the job. I just couldn't turn down an offer in hopes that another job calls. If they didn't call, I wouldn't have a job. What would you do in this situation if they did call and offer the job? Would you quit the job you just started and take it, or turn it down even though it is more money and mo…

Dupe alert- Estee Lauder Pop Pink

The bonus of having your makeup room organized is being able to compare items from your collection that you forgot that you had!

While trying on my Loreal Blushing Sequin lipstick, I started thinking it looked a lot like my Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss Stick in Pop Pink.... so... I had to compare the two.

Left is Loreal and right is EL. This photo is with flash. You can see they are nearly identical.

Top Loreal and bottom is EL. When swatched with flash, you can see that the Loreal is a little more warm toned and the EL is a little more cool toned.

Left is Loreal and right is EL. Again, they are nearly identical.

Left is Loreal and right is L with no flash. The EL is more pigmented, but still the color is nearly identical.

I would say these are so close that you do not need both. I love and use both, especially in the summer. They both give the look of a gloss and are hydrating on the lips. When I Googled the Pop Pink gloss stick, I could not find it for sale, so it may be discontin…

November Julep box- Suedes

I have never tried a "suede" type polish before, so I was totally intrigued by this months box. I stayed with my "Classic with a twist" style.

The box contained Minka and Brit matte suede polishes, pink grapefruit body frosting, and 3 nail polish remover pads.

2 coats, no top-coat
I am pretty pleased with these polishes. They apply nicely and smooth, no streaks or chunks. Not sure of the wear time yet, but I have not had any problems with other Julep polishes.

What did you get this month in your Julep box?
