Laura Mercier Baked Blush Bronze- Ritual- Review

Laura Mercier is one of my top five favorite makeup brands of all time. I love the quality of each and every product in the line.

When I saw Vanessa (thebombshellsuite) post a picture of this product on Instagram stating it was a must have, I knew I had to have it! I usually like everything that she likes. This was no exception!

The packaging is the signature brown plastic packaging that all of Laura Mercier's products come in. It shows fingerprints very easily, which is no problem in my makeup drawer, but sucks in photo's.

There is a large mirror inside the compact, but those also do not photograph well. We all know what a mirror looks like :).

The powder is 9.5 g or .34 oz for $36 and is part of the new Folklore collection on LauraMercier's website.

The product is a mix of matte tan and metallic bronze and rose and swirls of pearlescent pink. Mixed together you get a beautiful bronzey tan glow. I love that this product applies on the shearer side and can be built upon to achieve a darker look. This makes it much more user friendly for lighter skin tones.

Notice how the swatch does not look orange or pink? My problem with a lot of bronzers is that they either lean too pink or orange, which is what I do not want. I want to look bronze. The pink in this is just enough to brighten the complexion without looking pink. The luminosity buffs right out of the product when applied to the skin and looks more matte, so do not worry about having sparkley cheeks.

I love the warmth and liveliness this product brings to my skin. It is perfect for me now that I am self-tanning (review coming).

When I first saw this bronzer, I thought it would be similar to Laura Geller Bronze-n-Brighten. But the BnB is much more pink upon application. I swatched two different Bronze-n-Brighten's side by side and one had much darker veining, while the other was mostly white and you can see how different they are. Ritual looked most like Honey Dipped, but less shiny and slightly darker.

Final Thoughts:

I think this is a wonderful bronzer. The price is great and very comparable to other baked items on the market. The color is perfect- not too shiny, not too matte. If you are searching for a new bronzer, I say give this one a try!

Oh, and if you order from the LM website, you always get free samples and I believe you get free shipping right now too.
