Follow me with Bloglovin :)

I have read through the grapevine that Google Reader will be no more as of July 1 and that the only way to keep track now is to follow via email, RSS, or Bloglovin. I went ahead and transferred all the blogs I follow on Google to Bloglovin and you can too!

The RAEviewer wrote an excellent post on how to do this, so I will just send you there to follow the steps on how to transfer the blogs you follow as well.

I hope you all will continue following me on this journey! See you on Bloglovin!!!

My Wen Journey- Update

I have been using Wen again for about a month now. My hair is looking beautiful!

I do not cleanse, rinse, and repeat. I feel like it is unnecessary and a ploy to get us to use more product. Years ago, one cleanse was what we were told. We were also told the Cleansing Conditioner was the only product we need. How many products are in the Wen line now?

Back to my hair.

I have been eperimenting with different formula's of Wen and have discovered that some things just don't work for me.

I can use any seasonal formula and they work wonderfully. In fact, they are my favorite and I wish they came in a gallon size.

Wen Kids is what I am using in the gallon size and it is also working nicely. My hair is soft and smooth. I just feel like I have to cleanse more often with the Kids than the normal or my hair looks flat and oily.

I tried the Wen Sweet Almond Mint last week to see if the original formula would cause any reaction. I also used the 613 at the same time. One of them caused a …

Chanel Fall 2013 Makeup Haul

I have been looking so forward to this collection! I am always excited when Chanel releases anything new, but Fall collections always tend to be my very favorites, only because the colors get richer and more saturated.

I am unsure of the official name of any of the collections and what all is included. I only found tidbits of information on different blogs and created my shopping list from them.

I purchased four items. There were six cream blushes, but I only picked one, and if I like it I will choose another.

Here is what I got!

Free samples :)
The packaging
And Walla! The pretty colors.
The items I chose were:

Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow- 101 Gri-Gri

Le Blush Creme De Chanel- 63 Revelation

Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow- 43 Mystere

Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour- 57 Mystique

Le Blush Creme De Chanel- 63 Revelation

I had hoped this would be more of a peachy pink, but it is very cool pink on my tan skin.

Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow- 101 Gri-Gri

Chanel Les 4 Ombres- 85 Demure

I am not too fancy nor too well off to purchase some quality second hand luxury cosmetics. Such is the case with this purchase. I was lucky enough to catch my friend Nicole posting this baby for sale and jumping on it before anyone else.

And here she is:

She's a little banged up, but she's still a beauty!

She's soft and delicate like a spring flower. Reminds me of a ballerina.
What better mix than pink and chocolate?

I love the subtle shimmer and frosted variations of pink with the deep matte brown. I can get a lot of use out of this little gem. If you ever see this Demure quad, I highly recommend snatching it up!

I finally have a Tom Ford palette!!!

Can you guess which one I picked?

It is just as beautiful as I imagined!

Perfect for my green/hazel eyes....

It just arrived today.

It is....................................................

Burnished Amber!!!!!!

I am so excited! This is the most expensive single makeup item I have ever bought. And my husband just purchased some of the Chanel Fall 2013 collection for me too and it will be here next week. I am on a makeup high!

So here it is:

I can't wait to wear these beautiful shades on my eyes! This is my first Tom Ford purchase. I do not have a counter near me, so I ordered from

Would you spend $75 on an eyeshadow palette? I know I will feel fancy every time I wear it!!!

Lessons from the Cosmetic Counter- #1

I often find comments all over the Internet from girls trying to get on at a cosmetic counter, or wanting to know how it works, what is expected, or just girls that are scared of their first day. I am going to write a series of posts dedicated to working at a cosmetic counter with tips and advice from my experiences both working and managing a cosmetic counter.

How do I get hired at a cosmetic counter?

Let's start off with some basic information. Most counters withing a department store are staffed by the store. There are a few counters who lease the space withing the store and do their own hiring. The leased counters at my store were MAC, Lush, and Bare Escentuals.

To apply for a leased counter position, you would ask for an application at that counter.

To apply for any other counter position, you would go to the Human Resource department within the store. Most major department stores have a hiring center within their website as well, which shows the job postings and lets you app…

Current Wishlist- New Products

I wish I had a never ending supply of income to be able to purchase every new item that comes out on the market. But, I don't. So I will just tell you what I wish I could buy instead.

Too Faced just released their Fall Collection- Pretty Rebel.

Pretty Rebel Palette- $46

Lip Injection Color Bomb- $21 each

Chanel has their new fall collection hitting stores. It is not available online yet, but I want it! (Nordstrom has the cream blush online)

Le Blush Creme de Chanel- $38

See the collection here-

Smashbox just released a new primer with blemish control! That sounds like something that could really benefit my skin. This is definitely something that has been missing in the cosmetic market.

Review- Jesse's Girl Liquid Eyeliner

I was excited to get my hands on this new liner from Jesse's Girl. I had seen it all over Facebook and YouTube.

First impression:

I love the sleek metallic tube.

The pen has a magic marker style applicator which makes it easy to use.

The cap clicks closed and is airtight.

The price was great at under $6.

Easy to find at Rite Aid store.

Super fine, flexible tip.
Easy to write with like a pen. Can get a very thin line.

I was eager to try this baby out and see how it would do. At first touch it seemed very effective at making a super skinny line at my base of my lashes. The tip is very easy to get into the inner corner. The color is nice and black.

The problem:

It didn't dry! It stayed wet and ran all over my lid!!!

I had to wipe it down with a cottom swab and apply shadow over top to set.

I was so disappointed!

I had such high hopes. One of my favorite bloggers- Crystallis007- loved this liner and gave it a great review. Why did it not work for me?

I will keep trying. I don't like to give…
