Rimmel Show Off- 101 Celestial- Review

The Apocolips have finally made it into my hands! Really, I just heard about these a week ago via Nouveau Cheap's blog. Everyone seemed really excited about them so I had to see what the fuss was about. My Walgreen's had a giant display of them, so I picked the color that looked like I could get the most wear out of to try out.

I had a love affair with Rimmel Vinyl lip gloss long before my makeup obsession became an obsession.

My first impression of the gloss tube was that it was nice compared to the cheaper looking ones of days past. The weight is nice, I like the applicator wand. The dang sticker on the side of it was not an easy one to remove, so getting into the tube was a bit difficult.

This is the tricky sticker. You have been warned.

I wish the name Apocolips would have stayed. Show Off just does not show off enough.

The swatch. This gloss is super opaque. It has a nice consistency, not goopy, not too thin. The cheap watermelon smell is not the most pleasant, but thankfully it wears off in around ten minutes.

The lip swatch.

Yep, that's me.

I picked the shade Celestial thinking it would be a nice rose. It surprisingly shows more coral/pink on my lips than rose. The coverage and opacity are great, especially since the formula is not at all drying or uncomfortable. I would compare the formula to Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick. It is the closest thing I have tried that even comes close to comparison. I got a good 5 hours of wear out of this before it started fading. It also stays in place. I cannot believe I hadn't heard of these before!

The price is even better than the product- $4.99!!!! I could get almost six of these for the price of one Hourglass Liquid Lipstick!!!

This product gets a huge thumbs up from me. I can't wait to get more shades.

Have you tried these yet? What other shades should I buy??
