This is the new powder foundation from Tarte. The packaging is unique and the brush is amazing!
I have tried this with and without a base and have found that it works best on me with a base. My favorite at the moment is the Tarte Clean Slate Flawless 12-Hour Brightening Primer. Such a big name for such a small tube. I like this one because it is more of a lotion type primer and it has brightening properties. I will take all the help I can get for my dark spots!
I am in the shade- medium neutral
The container makes application easy and takes away the mess associated with loose powders. You simply press the brush into the mesh to pick up product. No swirling or tapping required!
The brush is ultra soft! If you ever have rubbed your face against a bunny, you know what using this brush feels like.
The brush is the perfect size for holding and for buffing.
After applying primer and foundation
After applying bronzer and lipstick and highlighter.
I get great coverage from this foundation. I can simply layer over areas that need extra coverage without looking like a mask. This powder never caked up or looked dry on me. My one problem was that is got shiny on me quickly and I realized it needed to be set with a finishing powder. It worked really well with my Mally Skin Finishing loose powder.
I feel like the clay in the powder dries out the blackheads and blemishes on my face and draws them out. I would look at my face at the end of the day and want to squeeze out everything I saw. After a couple days it looked much clearer and had less clogging. I think the foundation actually purged my pores a bit.
The finish is very natural. It is great for no makeup kinds of days when you just want a little something. It also worked well for full face makeup days as well. I do not know how this would work on very dry skin. I am pretty normal aside from breakouts and I actually felt a little oily without setting it.
I will definitely be keeping this and continuing to use it. I would recommend for anyone who likes trying foundations or who loves mineral foundations, especially if you love the Bare Minerals matte foundation. Experimenting with different primers may also determine how you like this foundation.
QVC sells this as a set for $39.84 which I have linked below. It is also available to purchase on Tarte's website individually HERE. The foundation is $36 and the brush is $26. QVC has the better value even when considering Tarte has free shipping.
I purchased this myself, but I use affiliate links when possible.
