Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant Review

I am no stranger to a powder cleanser or exfoliant. I've tried the Bare Minerals version and the Tatcha version, along with buffing grain type products that mix with a cleanser. What makes this one unique is the addition of chemical exfoliant so that you get a dual exfoliation. I can add a few drops of water and make a paste to scrub my face, or add more water and make a cream and a lighter exfoliation. The salicylic acid is great for my congested pores and acne.

I will probably not purchase this once it is gone, simply because I like a more multipurpose product that cleanses and exfoliates at once. But it is a good product and works well for a light exfoliation. I do prefer this out of the three I have tried. I am a fan of Dermalogica products and would highly recommend the line to anyone looking for a great skincare routine.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Eyeshadow Palettes- swatches

Here they are and they are all awesome! I have swatches of all ten palettes and I will tell you some of my thoughts on them at the end.

01 Defiant Nude
02 Ivory Power
03 Provocative Petal
04 Rebel Metal
05 Fiery Saffron
06 Currant Desire
07 Untamed Teal
08 Infamous Sky
09 Fierce Safari
10 Envious Orchid

I will start by saying that I think Estee Lauder does some of the best matte eyeshadow on the market (wild truffle, wild sable, chocolate bliss, etc). These palettes have a great mix of mattes, shimmers, metallics, and satins. They are a bit powdery when you dip your brush into them. But, the pigmentation is great.

My favorites- Fiery Saffron, Provocative Petal, and Infamous Sky. But I also love the metallics in Rebel Metal and Fierce Safari. I actually want them all.

These were taken in a bit of a hurry, but I hope they are helpful enough to help you choose.

Thanks for stopping by!

Votre Vu Palette Play Eyeshadow Quad- Nude- Review

The Nude quad from Votre Vu has a little something for everyone to love. The shades are not named on the palette, but are gorgeous just the same.

The deep bronze brown has a hint of sparkle, but the sparkle buffs off and it looks practically matte on the skin.

The warm matte camel tone is the perfect transition shade for every eye color.

Of course, there has to be a metallic taupe shade for all the taupe lovers. This one is beautiful and a great addition to what would have been a totally warm toned quad.

The matte cream shade is your typical matte highlight, and makes this quad complete.

You do not need to add anything else to this quad to complete a look. It has everything you need. I love that I can throw this in my makeup bag and not need another palette. It is very versatile and easily goes from day to night.

The formula is soft and pigmented. These shadows are also nourishing to the skin with jojoba and vitamin E.  It doesn't even need a primer, but they do offer one that wo…

You gotta try this Lipsense stuff!!

What is Lipsense? Only the most long-wearing lip product on the market. It doesn't feather, bleed, or transfer onto other things or other people. It is amazing!

Lipsense comes in over 50 shades, but can also be layered to create your own unique shade like I did above. Mine is one layer of Fly Girl with two layers of Plum.

I found this product when searching for a kiss proof lip for brides so that the groom didn't end up with lipstick on. This fit the bill perfectly. I like it so much, I signed up to be a distributor and share it with all of you. If you know me, that means a lot because I hate sales.

If you want more info or want to order some to try yourself, please email me at or go to and use my distributor number 172810. Be sure to tag me in your photos wearing Lipsense and let me know how much you love it.

My favorite shades- Fly Girl, Aussie Rose, Praline Rose, Kelly's Crush, Apple Cider, Cappuccino

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 50- Review

Turning thirty was a wake-up call to my skin. Suddenly, I had dark spots and uneven skin tone. I had always struggled with acne, but never thought I would be dealing with sun damage. Needless to say, sunscreen has become a major staple in my skincare routine. That is why I am pleased to bring this review to you.
Introducing, Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 50. (Review after pictures)

This product is like nothing I have ever tried before. The texture is very emollient, like a gelatinous lotion. It liquefies upon contact to your body heat and melts into the skin without an oily residue.

The smell is also unique. At first I could smell that typical sunscreen smell, but that quickly dissipated into an herbal/spicy smell that reminded me of licorice. It was pleasant and mild.

But, then I got to thinking, will this licorice scented sunscreen sting my eyes? I had to test it, so I applied a nice dollop to my eye area and all around. No stinging, no anything. It was like I had just app…

Votre Vu ARCH DE TRIUMPHE Brow Definer- Review

Brows are the most important feature on the face when it comes to creating structure. A great makeup can look less than flattering without a defined brow. I am a bit of a collector of brow products, always looking for the next best thing. This brow cream from Votre Vu did not disappoint.

From the website:

Raise brows when you amp up your allure with Arch de Triumphe, an innovative, antioxidant-enriched brow-shaping formula. Lightweight and water-resistant, this long-lasting blend of soft waxes, vitamin E and micronized minerals mimics the sheer and natural highlights of your hair — so you don´t appear stenciled-n-penciled, just coquettish and coiffed! So easy to use that in just a few seconds, you can reveal a beautifully framed face, brilliantly highlighted eyes, and more confiden…

Votre Vu Bébé Duette luxurious lips and hand cream duo- Review

I don't know about you, but I love a good lip balm. Add a hand cream to my lip balm, and I have a handy dry skin savior. Most of us are driest on our lips and hands, so this makes perfect sense.

Votre Vu is a brand new to me and first introduced when I did a review for My Beauty Bunny several months ago. The company is California based, with a mix of French and American ingenuity. The products are luxe, and well made. I will be doing several reviews in the coming weeks.

The Bébé Duette was sent to me in both a clear balm and tinted balm formula. The tinted offers a tiny red tint to the lips (think Cherry chapstick, but much better), but both are the same great formula.

Luxe Lips

This nourishing lip balm made from coconut oil, shea butter and beeswax gently protects, nourishes and softens lips in every condition. A deliciously light and natural coconut flavor delivers a guiltless treat to your mouth with every application. Intensively nourishing, your lips will become supple and shiny…

Gorgeous Cosmetics Bronzer and Highlighters- Review

My inspiration for this haul was a live chat with Corey Bishop via Specktra several weeks ago. He really talked up the Prism highlighter, so I had to have it. I will link the live chat recording at the end of this review

The four products pictured are Prism Summer highlighter, Endless Summer bronzer in 01, Prism highlighter, and Apples blush.

All but the Prism highlighter came in the matte black rubber like packaging. Prism came in a mirrored compact. I don't like the mirrored compact because it feels more fragile and the mirror will not stay up when the compact is open, it just falls backward.

Prism Summer highlighter
Prism highlighter
01 bronzer
Apples blush
summer, prism, bronzer
I did not swatch Apples because it will be included in my review of the blush palette that is coming up. (If you love a pinky/peach blush, get it!)

Summer is the perfect golden highlight. It has the perfect amount of sheen but no sparkle or glitter. It is the kind of sheen that captures the light at c…

Gorgeous Cosmetics Fashion Eyeshadow Palette- Review and Swatches

I must admit, I ordered this palette for one shadow- goldfish! I was going to buy it separately, but it was in the palette, and the palette is a better deal.... you know how that goes.

Lucky for me, all the shades in this palette are gorgeous!

gorgeous gold, goldfish, marshmellow, plum
teal, cadet, papa smurf, peter pan

Gorgeous Cosmetics knows how to make a shadow. Most of their shadows have amazing pigmentation, with the exception of some of the mattes. I always swatch without a base, and I still got good color payoff. Teal was really the only chalky looking one in the swatches, but to the touch, the color payoff was outstanding.

This whole palette is a winner for me.

I am not saying this is a stand alone palette. But, if you have a large collection of neutral and are looking to expand into some color, this is a great palette to get.

And that goldfish shade.... if you have blue eyes, just get it!

No duds in this one.

I actually think this would make an amazing Fall palette. And keep…

Midnight Velvet Braided Tassel Hobo Bag Review and Giveaway!

I am not a big handbag person. I usually don't even carry a handbag. When I was recently given the opportunity to choose a handbag to review, I really weighed the options to pick a handbag that was classic and stylish, as well as useful.

I ended up choosing the Braided Tassel Hobo Bag. I love a simple, white handbag. The taupe trim makes this bag the perfect neutral piece for any wardrobe. The style goes from casual to dressy. This handbag reminded me of a much more expensive version that my QVC friends go crazy for, but smaller, lighter, and faux leather.  If you are like me and do not want animals to be killed at the expense of a handbag, you will appreciate the faux leather.

This white bag is roomy with a middle zippered compartment for more valuable items and many pockets for organization.

The outside of the bag features a zipper compartment and decorative tassel.

This bag also fits over the shoulder comfortably.

The retail value of this bag is $89.95, which is superb for the …

Gorgeous Cosmetics Neon 8 pan palette- Review

I just placed a massive order with Gorgeous Cosmetics after watching and winning on a live video Q and A with Corey Bishop, their Director of Artistry. I was intrigued and wanted to try everything, but since I could not afford to buy one of everything, I ordered as much as I could.

For my first "show and tell", I am reviewing the Neon palette. This palette was the one I was immediately drawn to because of the vibrant colors. I found the palette to be misleading as the promo image shows a red shadow and two purple shades in the palette-

And this is what I got-

This confuses me. Did they put the wrong shades in my palette or is the promo really misleading? I wanted the palette from the promo.

On to the swatches and reviews of the shadows I did receive. (Oh, I also pushed one of the shadows out of the palette to see if it was labeled and they are not. They are glued into the palette. It seems like these aren't made to easily refill.)

The Swatches:

Buttercup, OJ, Orange, Gra…
