Makeup Geek- haul

Here are some recent additions to my collection. 16 away from having them all!!!

Mally Beauty Pilar Pink lipstick- Review

I had to hunt this pretty down, and it was so worth it!

This special pink lipstick, in the beautiful signature pink packaging, was named after Mally's mother, whom died from breast cancer. This lipstick is as beautiful as the sentiment behind it.

My naked, dry, lips

This lipstick formula has a slight minty feel and scent, which I love. It immediately hydrates the lips and feels comfortable, while offering full coverage. I tend to always have dry lips, and I can wear this all day with no issue. This shade of pink is perfect, not too bright, not too boring. It is the perfect shade to brighten the face.

I only hope Mally offers this shade for sale as a single in the future. If you are lucky you can find it in a kit from time to time, or on eBay.

Highly recommend!!!

I just found this sitting as a draft and thought I would post it for you. I am a fan of the shimmer shades, but the matte's don't excite me. But, I am not a fan of matte in general.

Nude Lipliner Swatches

Here is a comparison of some Nude lipliners I have in my stash. Some are very new to me and some are old ready to trash, but for color comparison, here they are.

As you can see, for the most part they are all very similar. My most used is my MUFE 1C. Smashbox is my deepest one and is very similar to the It Cosmetics Blushing Nude. NYX Nude Pink is the most pink.

I was upset to open the Mac one and see white mold on the tip. In the trash it is going. The Jordana is dried up, and I don't even know if they still carry it, but if they do, it is very close to most of the others and a great cheap alternative.

The smoothest application will be the creamier pencils like the It, Mally, and MUFE. The rest are all drier pencils.

I still want to try Trish McEvoy and Bobbi Brown lip liners. I wouldn't say any of these are my HG yet. I am testing out the It Cosmetics one today, and so far I am really liking it.

Mally 5-piece Lip Magnifier Library

Lip Magnifiers are my newest obsession! I love how they even out my lips, give me full coverage, and look smooth and plump. I can cheat the smaller side of my mouth to make my lips look even, which is the most important thing for me next to hydration. I am prone to dry and chapped lips.

This 5-piece set is exclusive to QVC and currently available on Waitlist.

Mally Beauty High Shine Liquid Lipstick review and swatches

If you have followed me for a while, you might already know that Mally's liquid lipstick pens are my HG lipglosses. I collect them, I wear them, I love them.

Because I have crooked lips and these prime and fill in my lips, while also providing shine, and can be applied over the complete outside edge of the lip without moving, so that I can cheat my lip lines to make them appear bigger and more symmetrical.

Product Description:

Mally's High-Shine Liquid Lipstick Pen is a high-performance, 4-in-1 product that includes your lip primer, lipstick, lip gloss, and lip liner all in one! It is a beautiful, smooth, and creamy formula that lasts. These lip pens give you the perfect amount of color combined with the sexy high shine of a gloss.

Here is most of my collection. Some of these I have multiples of (not pictured) and some of mine are missing and probably in a handbag or my car, and when I find them I will add the swatches. Let me show you all of these, and then I will tell you …

Quickie Review- Maskcara IIID foundation

This product has been pushed to the back of my makeup drawer for months, just because I could not find a way to like it, and didn't want to write a negative review.

I finally decided to pull it out again today and give it another go. This is the medium duo.

I have handled this a lot and used it several times, as you can tell by the dingy packaging. That is what I dislike about the white, though I do like the look of it when it is clean.

Cara used a double ended brush from It Cosmetics to apply this product, so I used the same brush.

What I don't like about this product:

The contour shade is very sheer. It actually blends right into my face and doesn't show up at all.

The highlight shade sits into any flake, line, or wrinkle on my face. I don't mind it being yellow, I just want it to blend.

This product does not set. It stays tacky and feels very waxy on my skin.

Pantene Original Fresh Dry Shampoo review

I am a dry shampoo enthusiast and use it frequently to keep from shampooing my hair too often. This Pantene dry shampoo tickled my fancy because it is tapioca powder based instead of cornstarch or talc. It was around $5, which is more than the Tresemme or Suave I usually use, but I thought I would try it anyway.
This is my hair all nice and dirty for you.
This is my hair after applying this dry shampoo.
Like every dry shampoo I have ever used, except for Oscar Blandi, this leaves a white cast in my root area. It did absorb the oil nicely and didn't have a strong smell. If you look very closely you can see the powder sitting on the hair, but i find that within a couple hours it wears down and the white look and powder dissipate and the hair looks normal.

I didn't find that this product was any better or worse than the lesser priced brands I have tried, but it worked nicely and I will use it up.

Trish McEvoy Beauty Balm Shade 1- Review

I am new to Trish McEvoy and have been slowly trying some of her products. I was lucky enough to get a sample of this product, since it is more than double the price of most Beauty Balms I have tried. Is it worth it? Find out below.

Shade 1

The product claims:
An all-in-one skin perfecter that instantly primes, brightens, evens, hydrates and controls oil. Rejuvenating peptides improve skin’s texture quality over time while SPF helps prevent sun damage. Worn under foundation or alone, it minimizes shine and delivers a look of healthy, natural coverage with a velvety finish.

The first thing I noticed is how dark Shade 1 is. I am light right now and it was too dark for me. Since this only comes in two shades, I can't see anyone fairer than me being able to use it. Other than that, I did find this product to be superb. The coverage was great, it looked natural on my skin. You all know that I do not like to see my foundation sitting on my skin. This worked into the skin ni…
